Cops for Cancer

The fifth annual Cops for Cancer was held at Masonville mall on November
8th. Thirty five officers helped to raise $15,000 for the Canadian
Cancer Society by having their hair shaved or cut. Cops for Cancer began
in 1994 when an Edmonton police officer shaved his head in support of a
five-year-old boy with cancer. Since its beginning, police have raised
more than $20 million across Canada.

Headquarters is Growing

During
the construction, the current visitor parking area along the west side
of the building will no longer be available, and visitors will have to
utilize the on-street parking or at municipal parking lots. The
existing front entrance and headquarters desk area will remain
operational for service and enquiries during the entire construction
period.

Boys Band Reunion

Reunion was held in April 2008! The Band was formed as part of a Police
Boys Club in the early 1940s, as an initiative of the London Police led
by Chief Earl Knight. The purpose of the Club was to provide supervised
activities for pre-teens and teenage boys, many of whom had fathers who
were serving overseas, during World War II.
